How I Contacted MyDeal

So, a few days ago I realised there was a deposit made to my bank account. It took a few seconds for me to realise that that was the money I have been chasing for for months from MyDeal.com.my for a parcel that I rejected because it arrived after the agreed deadline.

I posted on their Facebook page to inform them that I have received my refund and received a couple of questions from other MyDeal customers on how I managed to get my money back. Like me, many others have tried to get a hold of them with bleak results. I don't really know how I managed to get them to give me my money back (other than some not-so-subtle suggestions about going to the authorities..), but I can share my experience on how I got them to respond.

#prayforMH370

At the time of this entry, it has been over 60 hours since MH370 went off the grid, and we are waiting for the results from the lab on the sample of oil slick found in the ocean.

Since finding out about the plane's disappearance, I've spent hours and hours refreshing my google search for updates on the search for the missing plane, stalking twitter for news, swiped my thumb on my cellphone over and over on my facebook timeline. My eyes feel like lemons for trying to hold back tears, and I've been tossing and turning in bed and waking at odd hours to check for updates.

And I am pissed.

Manifest love and all good things

Hi there.

It has been a while since I last mentioned the Cell that I've been going to. This is a long overdue entry as I took my time to consider the contents, and I really wanted be sure that I am ready to talk about Fish and Loaves.

My first visit was on 24 April 2013, and I think it is about time to share some thoughts I have about this cell.

For the Year 2014

I know I'm a little behind with the whole New Year's Resolution thing.

All this while I have always thought that if you want to change something, do it NOW, why wait till the new year, right? I mean, not everyone is lucky enough to make it to the next year. (So many people die young, you know?)

I'm not being pessimistic, but just wanting to remind myself that life is short.

Also, there are some resolutions that I lack determination to keep, especially when it involves physical effort, like going to the gym or waking up early. Determination and discipline has never been my best friends.

Dealmates: More Disappointments

I was advised to file a report against Dealmates to the Tribunal For Consumer Claims Malaysia (under the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-Operatives and Consumerism).

I considered the option, and decided that pressure from the authorities would probably weigh more than constant complains and pressure from individual customers.

Dealmates: A Disappointment

Following my previous entries : Worst online shopping experience, so far , and Why On-line Shopping Annoys Me , you'd think I would have learnt my lesson by now.

Well, shame on me, because I allowed yet another merchant to disappoint me.

Social Life Marketing

I'm sure everyone knows what is Social Media Marketing.
If you don't, here's a quick 101: Social Media Marketing basically means promoting your products/services via non-traditional mediums(newspapers, billboards, televesion, radio, flyers etc), also known as Social Media(Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Foursquare etc)

But what is Social Life Marketing?
This is a term I came up with to describe people using multiple social media platforms to post the same content.

What? 10,000 Pageviews?!

During my first year in university, my friends introduced me to the world blogging.
We had lots of time to kill between classes so a typical break would be the three of use hanging out at the computer lab for free internet. We would either be MSN-ing each other (although we were sitting nex to together. That's how bored we were), checking out blogs by Kenny Sia or Xiaxue, or writing an open diary, also known as blogs.

That was during the time when there were no smartphones or ipads or any of us being able to afford a laptop. Broadband was still new to us, and blogging was a new hobby. We would play around with skins and explore the world of HTML, sometimes ending up with really nice layouts but most of the time it would end up looking like a coding machine exploded.
